Ambry Legal

At Ambry Legal I pride myself on giving practical advice and clear recommendations as to the best way forward.

This is made possible by my broad business experience gained in over twenty years in banking and finance and then five years actually working at senior levels within large corporations. This practical experience is supported by impeccable academic qualifications gained at appropriate times throughout my career.

Ambry Legal rarely accepts work from new clients who are not referred to us by other professional firms with whom we have a working relationship. This is because my experience has shown that strangers often turn out to be bad clients. Bad clients are those who are:
• slow to pay their professional advisers;
• unable to provide clear instructions as to the facts of their matter; or,
• unable or unwilling to take the time to work through their problems and understand the solutions we propose.

The time required to manage bad clients is out of all proportion to the value they add to my business. They also stop me from providing superior service to my good clients. And it is my good clients who not only pay the bills but also provide the intellectual and emotional stimulation to continue to excel at what I do.

I aim to provide commercially realistic and competitively priced taxation law advice to good clients. These people typically conduct a small to medium sized business. I achieve my quality and pricing goals by developing meaningful relationships with a tax payer's main business advisor, usually their accountant, so that the person who instructs me is able to quickly and efficiently provide me with the information I require.

Along the way I will strive to understand a client's business and I will always respect their decisions and their relationships with other professional advisers. Importantly, I recognise that the best technical solution is not always the most effective way to resolve a problem or exploit an opportunity.
