Updated Income Tax Guide for Non-Profit Organisations now available

An updated version of the ‘Income Tax Guide for Non-Profit Organisations’ has been released
by the ATO. This guide is designed to assist non-profit organisations, including charities, clubs,
societies and associations. As only certain non-profit organisations are exempt from income
tax, the guide aims to assist organisations determine whether they fall into the exempt category.
In addition, the tax treatment for both exempt and non-exempt non-profit organisations is
explained.
The updated guide reflects changes in taxation law since the guide was last issued in November
